NATURAL RATTAN
Material Description – Rattan
Rattan is a fully natural material derived from thick grasses and palm species. Because the material is organic and every piece is handcrafted, each item is unique. Variations in color and appearance are natural and may depend on the season in which the rattan is harvested and the furniture is produced.
Our rattan furniture is made from various rattan types sourced from plantations in Indonesia. Common varieties include kubu, slimit, abaca, croco, lacak, and malaka. Some products are treated with a water-based protective lacquer.
Recommended use: Indoor only.
Over time, rattan may dry out and become brittle. To maintain its flexibility and durability, we recommend regular rehydration, such as lightly misting the surface with water using a spray bottle. Dry rattan can crack or break under pressure, so handle with care.
Care & Maintenance
• Clean with a slightly damp cloth and a soft brush
• Mist regularly with water to keep the rattan hydrated
• Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources that may dry out the material
Cushions for Rattan Furniture
Our standard cushions for rattan furniture are made from 100% cotton in off-white. The inner core is composed of polyether, wrapped in finely cut polyether and synthetic fibers for comfort and durability.
