CONCRETE
Material Description – Concrete Furniture Made from Natural Materials
Our concrete furniture is made primarily from natural materials such as granite stone dust, cement, natural jute fibers, and water. Concrete is naturally porous, so each piece is sealed with wax after production to provide active protection against stains.
As each item is hand-cast, color variations and differences in thickness are to be expected, which can lead to slight variations in height.
Outdoor Use: Furniture can be used outdoors during the summer season. However, they must be protected during fall and winter. Bowl-shaped tabletops must not be left filled with water or stored outdoors during winter. Note: Not all concrete furniture is suitable for outdoor use.
Care & Maintenance
• Clean with mild soap and water
• Do not use abrasives, ammonia, bleach, or citrus-based cleaners (they often contain acids that can damage the surface)
• Regular household soap (such as green or yellow soft soap) works well – it cleans and re-oils the concrete
• Apply a wax treatment within two months of purchase, and then every 3–6 months depending on usage and exposure
Important Notes for New Use & Outdoor Exposure
In the first months, the concrete is still undergoing its hardening process and is more prone to staining. Therefore, waxing is essential, especially for tabletops.
If used outdoors, surface protection is even more critical – moisture combined with cold can cause freeze damage, resulting in cracks or flaking. Such damage is not considered a product defect or valid for claims.
Before Winter Storage
• Clean the furniture thoroughly
• Saturate the surface with oil – regular olive oil works well
• Apply with a cloth until the surface is fully saturated and no longer absorbs oil
• Do not cover with plastic or tarpaulin – concrete needs to breathe
• Avoid placing objects on the surface during storage
• Store under a roof and in a frost-free environment
