MARMOR, BLUESTONE & TRAVERTINE
Material Description – Marble & Bluestone
Marble and bluestone are natural limestone materials that are softer and more porous than, for example, granite. As a result, they require more careful handling. Small surface pits or holes are common and considered a natural part of the stone’s character.
Each piece of stone is completely unique – no two surfaces are alike. Stones are polished at the factory, resulting in a soft, glossy finish. Veining and color variations are natural and depend on the stone block they are cut from, meaning each slab may vary significantly in pattern and tone.
Care & Maintenance
• Stone is porous – wipe up any spills immediately
• Always use coasters under glasses, cups, and bottles – drinks like coffee, juice, and alcohol can cause permanent stains
• Clean with a slightly damp cloth
• Use only natural soap – it both cleans and helps replenish the stone’s natural oils
• Never use general household cleaners containing lemon or fruit acids – they may damage the surface
